Daily Itinerary
You will arrive to São Paulo International Airport (Guarulhos) and be taken to your hostel, where you’ll check in and have an orientation. You’ll have lunch as a group.
Your first activity will be a visit to Instituto Butantan, a world famous institute that produces anti-venoms for snakes and other poisonous animals of the Brazilian fauna. The institute has a very interesting museum with live specimens and a special presentation of poison extraction from snakes can be scheduled for the group.
This evening you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional local restaurant in São Paulo, then return to your hostel for the night.
This morning you’ll depart on a short flight to Campo Grande, capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. You’ll head to your accommodation at Fazenda Aguapé Lodge and check in to your room, then have lunch as a group.
This afternoon you’ll be able to explore the area and observe the wildlife in several unique ways. Take a walking tour through open field, riparian forest, and dense woodland to see the flora and fauna up close and personal. Get a broader view of the incredible landscape by riding on horseback through fields, swamps, and marshes, or by taking a safari tour on open 4×4 vehicles that offer the perfect chance for photography. Last but not least, take a motorboat tour of the Aquidauana River and see a wide variety of birds, mammals and reptiles that take refuge on the banks.
In the evening you’ll be able to observe the activity of nocturnal animals, and enjoy the incredible starry sky of the Pantanal uninterrupted by light pollution.

Today you’ll continue to explore the area and observe the wildlife and vegetation on foot, on horseback, and by vehicle on tours with experienced local guides. In the evening you’ll enjoy stargazing.

After breakfast this morning, you will travel to Bonito. Once you arrive, you’ll check into at the lodge and have lunch as a group.
Renowned for its stunning natural beauty, Bonito features pristine rivers like the Rio da Prata, which is famous for snorkeling and is teeming with vibrant fish species. One of the standout attractions is the Abismo Anhumas, a vast cavern adorned with stalactites. Additionally, the Buraco das Araras, a deep ocher depression, serves as a nesting site for flocks of macaws, adding to the region’s rich biodiversity. Students can engage in a variety of activities, including hiking, caving, and wildlife watching, all while enjoying the area’s unique ecosystems and crystal-clear waters.
This afternoon your group will have a presentation about the region’s most important environmental, geologic and social features. The rest of your afternoon will be free.

The next two days will be spent on the most significant and beautiful activities in Bonito:

This morning your group will transfer to Campo Grande International Airport. From there, you’ll fly to Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, and then board another flight back to the US.
