What is the ETA Scholarship Program?
We want to share the world of travel through your eyes and are looking for everyone’s POV! Our scholarship program can help make that happen! The program will provide funding toward trip costs to winners and they will be asked to create and provide content from their trip. Application materials and content will be shared on our social platforms.

Below are some of the questions we often get when helping schools, groups and organizations plan trips. If you don’t see your questions answered below, please contact us.
Who Can Apply?
Scholarships are open to anyone traveling on a future ETA trip. Students, teachers, and group leaders are encouraged to apply and will need access to a mobile phone or other recording device. Applications must be made either by a teacher or an individual (see application links below). Travelers who are NOT applying as a leader of a group must apply as individuals and may not apply jointly with their fellow travelers.
Can a student apply as an individual if their teacher applies for a group scholarship?
Yes, even in the case where a teacher applies for a group scholarship, students are still permitted to apply individually.
Why is ETA offering scholarships?
We care about you! Our goal is to make travel accessible to as many people as possible and to share the world of travel through your perspective. Anyone is welcome to apply.
How are scholarships awarded?
As part of your application, you will need to submit a video. In this video, please share:
- Why you are inspired to travel
- What your upcoming trip means to you
- Your personal story
Awards will be based on creativity, style, and originality. We encourage you to evoke emotions—make us laugh, cry, or feel inspired! Up to $500 (for students) or $2500 (for group leaders and teachers) may be credited for your future ETA trip.
How many scholarships are awarded?
The number will vary during each award period but several group and several individual scholarships will be awarded. This is a contest and we hope to have many applicants each time.
Is there an application deadline?
Yes! There are two possible time frames to apply:
- November 1st (funds will be awarded by December 1st)
- March 1st (funds will be awarded by April 1st)
What are the application requirements?
To apply for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a student, group leader, or teacher traveling in the future on an ETA trip
- Have access to a cell phone or video recording device for both the application and during the tour (see our social platforms)
- Submit a video that is no longer than 2 minutes
- Complete the application form with all required information
What are we looking for from scholarship winners?
Winners will be expected to provide fun, vibrant, and inspiring content from their tour experiences to be shared on our social media channels.
How will I know if I have received a scholarship award?
We will email everyone that applies on the award dates (Dec 1st or April 1st) to let you know if you have received an award and also if you have not. Individual awards will be credited to your ETA account and if you have already paid in full, we will refund the amount overpaid.
