Adventure in Puerto Rico – 6 Days

You will meet your tour manager.

Your bus will pick you up.

You will have lunch-depending on flight arrival times.

You’ll depart for the mountain town of San Lorenzo, where you’ll visit a family-owned coffee plantation. You’ll meet the farmers and have an introduction to the farm’s daily tasks and then do some hands-on activities.

You will depart for San Juan.

You will have dinner at a local restaurant.

You will check in at your hotel.

You’ll have breakfast.

You’ll take part in a service-learning activity at local school in San Juan.

You’ll have lunch at the school.

You’ll depart for Old San Juan and take a walking tour.

You’ll have a chance to visit a Spanish fort and get some brief shopping time near Plaza Colón.

Depart for cooking class and dinner.

You’ll learn to make Mofongo! A popular Puerto Rican dish made with fried green plantains, mashed with chicharrones (crispy pork skin) and garlic. It’s traditionally served with a red shrimp sauce (camarones guisados) or chicken broth, and makes a super delicious side dish.

You will return to your hotel for the evening.

You’ll have breakfast and then check out of your hotel room.

Then you’ll begin your drive to northeastern Puerto Rico.

When you arrive in Loiza, you’ll participate in an Afro Caribbean Bomba dance workshop. Here you will learn how to dance and play some Afro Caribbean instruments.

You’ll have lunch at a local restaurant in Loiza.

You’ll head to the foot of the rainforest, board a small rainforest bus and visit El Yunque National Forest. Located in Puerto Rico’s Northeast Region, El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rainforest in the national forest system. At nearly 29,000 acres, it is one of the smallest in size, yet one of the most biologically diverse.

You’ll have dinner near the rainforest.

This evening you’ll embark on a sunset and night kayaking bay tour in Fajardo. You’ll kayak out to witness the exciting light produced by micro-organisms in this bioluminescent lagoon!

You’ll have breakfast.

You’ll take professional salsa lessons at a dance school! Salsa describes a unique component of a dance, but it also describes a unique style of music that requires the dancer to mix and match the steps and moves they know to match the music.

Get ready! It’s time for your digital scavenger hunt at local farmers market!

You’ll have lunch in town.

You’ll have time to relax at idyllic Luquillo Beach.

You’ll have dinner at a local restaurant.

You’ll have breakfast.

This morning you will visit the world-famous Camuy Caverns.  The caverns are part of a large network of natural limestone caves and underground waterways carved out by the third-largest underground river in the world, the Río Camuy.

You will have lunch near the caves.

Beach hike and beach time at Survival Beach in Aguadilla.

You’ll have dinner at a local restaurant.

You’ll have breakfast and check out of your hotel room.

Then you’ll head to the airport and check in for your flight.

Your flight will depart.
