Indigenous Hawaii – 5 Days

Today you’ll start your adventure to Hawaii to make unforgettable memories. Upon arrival in Hawaii, you will meet your Tour Manager. You will have your first traditional dinner and head to your hotel to rest for the evening.

Early this morning, you will hike Diamond Head, a broad, saucer-shaped crater formed over 300,000 years ago during a volcanic explosion. This .8 mile hike takes you 560 feet up to the summit where you’ll see spectacular views of the landscape and the sea.

After breakfast, you will take a guided sightseeing tour in Honolulu that will include Iolani Palace, the State Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion, State Library, the King Kamehameha Statue and the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl).

This afternoon, you’ll visit the USS Arizona Memorial. The USS Arizona Memorial, located at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors and Marines killed on the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 by Japanese imperial forces and commemorates the events of that day.

This morning, you will take a driving tour of the North Shore where you’ll see the famous Bonzai Pipeline and a turtle sanctuary. You’ll continue to the town of Haleiwa for lunch at one of their famous shrimp trucks and for delicious shaved ice from Matsumoto’s.

In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Polynesian Cultural Center. You’ll see the villages and exhibits: Hawai’i, Marquesas, Tahiti, Tonga, Samoan, Rapa Nui, Aotearoa, Fiji, Hawaiian Mission Settlement. You’ll also have access to the village canoe tour, Tram Tour of La’ie and the “Rainbows of Paradise” Canoe Pageant. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a luau buffet dinner and the famous Hā: BREATH OF LIFE, A STORY OF PASSION, IGNITED BY FIRE, SONG AND DANCE. The symbolic story of Mana and his beloved Lani, punctuated by Polynesian dance, music and blazing fire knives, is told in a stunning, new evening show featuring over 100 Polynesian natives, special effects, animation and surround sound. It is a Pacific isle saga of birth and death, love and family, triumph and tragedy

After breakfast, it is all aboard for two miles of pineapple fun at the Dole Pineapple Plantation! On this fully narrated, twenty-minute train tour you’ll learn the story of pineapple in Hawai‘i, how James Drummond Dole founded his world-famous agricultural empire where Dole Plantation stands today, and travel through the stunning scenery of the island’s famous North Shore.

This afternoon, you will take a driving tour of Oahu’s South Shore and visit Pali Lookout, Halona Blowhole, Sandy Beach and the Makapu’u Lighthouse.

After breakfast, you’ll have free time at the beach or to explore on your own.

This afternoon your Hawaii adventure comes to a close as you begin your trip home.
