Daily Itinerary
You’ll visit Paris, the city of lights and an inspiration for love, art, food and culture and London, capital of the United Kingdom, among the oldest of the world’s great cities—its history spanning nearly two millennia. From the grand boulevards, delectable food and immense collections of ancient and modern art, Paris and London will delight the senses and expand the mind.
You’ll depart on your overnight flight.
Upon your arrival in London, you’ll visit London’s World Famous Covent Garden, a destination brimming with history, high end shops, fabulous restaurants and the arts. London’s Royal Opera House forms one corner of the piazza and the location was once one of London’s biggest slums. You’ll have some free time here for some shopping and lunch!
Next, you’ll visit the Tower of London, one of the world’s most famous fortresses. The Tower of London has been a royal palace, a prison, an armory and even a zoo and it is home to His Majesty’s Crown Jewels. The Tower of London has a vast history that includes the executions of two of Henry the VIII’s wives, Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, and Sir Walter Raleigh was a prisoner in the Bloody Tower for a time. The ravens that inhabit the White Tower are a special interest since it was foretold that if they were ever to leave, the great Tower of London would crumble and tragedy would befall England.
You’ll have dinner this evening and rest for the exciting days to come.
After breakfast, you’ll take an unforgettable, professionally guided, panoramic city tour of London including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, London Bridge and more!
You’ll then head for a tour of Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and an Official Residence of Her Majesty The Queen. Its rich history spans almost 1000 years and dates back to William the Conqueror.
After dinner, you’ll see a show at the West End show in London’s theatre district.
This morning, you’ll take the famous London Tube to a tour of the iconic Globe Theatre. The original theater was built in 1599 and burned down in 1613 during a performance of Henry VIII. The theatre was rebuilt a few years later, but closed again, seemingly for good, in 1642. Tenements were built on the location of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. In the late 20th century the Globe was resurrected a few hundred yards from where the original structure once stood. The modernized Elizabethan open air theatre that you’ll tour will transport you back in time with the engaging and informative look at the life of William Shakespeare, the London where he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote.
Next, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of London when you take a ride on the London Eye! It’s a breathtaking feat of design and engineering where passengers in this monstrous 443 foot tall Ferris wheel can see up to 25 miles in all directions.
You’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy London’s sights on your own!
This morning you’ll say good-bye to London and take the Eurostar from London to Paris.
Your first activity this afternoon will be a narrated river cruise on the Seine where you’ll take in many of the highlights of the city—the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay, Notre Dame, etc.—as you float along the famous Seine River!
You’ll close out the day with a visit to the Eiffel Tower. This iron lattice structure located on the Champ de Mars needs no introduction as it is the quintessential symbol of Paris. Take in the beauty and majesty from the tallest and most famous structure in Paris.
Today you’ll enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour where you’ll see the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral, the Champs-Elysees and the majestic Arc de Triomphe, the impressive Place de la Concorde and the ornate Opera House.
Next, you’ll visit the Louvre, one of the largest art museums in the world. The Louvre is one of the signature destinations in Paris and houses a magnificent collection of art from around the world including, most notably, Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
You’ll have some free time, and next a unique chance to learn about French cuisine during a hands-on cooking class, trying out your hand with classic French dishes at a local cooking school.
Cooking class will also be dinner!
Today is a free day for you to explore Paris on your own. The group will meet for dinner.
Your London and Paris trip come to a close as you begin your trip home.
